How many people like the freedom of choosing a topic to write about rather than having their assignment given to them? I personally would just rather be given a topic to write about.
Personally either one is fine with me. As going through school with given a subject to write about we have become used to doing that, which gets us to get used to that. Now that we are given the freedom of actually choosing our own topic and taking us out of our comfort zone actually gets us to cause our brains and think about what we honestly know about a subject.
I prefer being given a topic because it is less thinking of what you want to write about, you already have it given to you and it makes it so much easier.
