Welcome to the ENGL 101 Blog

This Blog was created for our class to reflect on writing. We will use it to share our thoughts and reflections about the writing we are doing in the course. It will help us develop a meta-cognitive awareness about our writing processes as well as the writing of others. Please share your thoughts about writing assignments, potential topics, successes, and struggles. You may even post samples of your writing you would like to share or on which you would like to receive feedback. Consider our Blog a safe place to communicate your thoughts about all things writing!

    Hello Everyone,

    I want to start off by saying, "my plans for English 101 is to"........... Hopefully pass this class with an "A" I will not accept anything less than that by any means necessary. I would like to increase my writing skills and incorporate it in my everyday life being a Business Management Major and acquiring a Military Occupation as an Human Resource Specialist. I'm perfectly imperfect with my writing skills, that is my flaw, but I will give this course my all. Thats about it on me hope to see others with the same goal!!

      Yeah i definitely agree as regard to improving my writing skills. Its been over a year since ive been enrolled in a english class im looking foward to gain new writing skills. Throughout the course of my business classes ive learned that it is important to not only speak effectively but also have the ability to write effectively as well. I believe this course will build that foundation.

    Hello,

    My plans for Engish 101 is to definelty work for an A, learn more about the different formats of writing as well as ways to make writing easier and fun at the same time. Writing is one of my stronger subjects comapred to math that I'm not so good in. I feel like as a class if we all work hard we should recieve nothing less than a B!

    Hi,
    My primary goal for this English 101 course is to refresh my fundamental writing skills. This course is necessary for me to extend my education at Greensboro College. In addition, I have 2 ultimate goals I would like to achieve my the end of this course: 1) Attain a final grade of "A"; and 2) help our professor abolish the "$20 jar" for good.

    The goals that I have for your class is to improve on my writing skill each day. Also, I plan to change my writing style in order to prove my point. I believe that changing up my writing style would only benefit my writing skills. If I to choose a grade to obtain in your class, I will work to recieve a A or B.

    All of us can agree with the fact of wanting to increase our writing skills. I do not write often but I seem to express myself better on paper than speaking out loud. That's what my first essay will be about.On another note, I look forward to see what growth I will have in writing in the end.

      I agree with that second sentence. I write only what is required of me, but when I do, I really express my point of view.

      I disagree with the second sentence it is completely different for me. I can communicate and express my thoughts and ideas fluently speaking out loud than writing them down. Possibly because i like to talk and im able to share my opinions with others in that direct moment.

    For this course, I plan on improving my writing abilities and skills. At this point, it is ok but I would like to increase it to a higher level. Also, I expect to get an A in this course and I will do all that it takes to earn that grade.

    Hey everyone! I'm actually looking forward to this course because Dr. DePolo has captured my interest. I'd like to think that my writing skills are in tip top shape. But you can never know what you will learn, right? Of course, my writing skills are only relative considering we are not going to be doing the regular 5-paragraph essays we are all used too. That is what I look forward to learning these five weeks, a new way to write, instead of the same way I have been writing for almost six years now. I believe I can achieve an A in this course, but that all depends on me. Good luck to all this summer session and I look forward to getting to know you.

    Hello everyone!

    My goal for English 101 is to get out with an A to help my GPA, and hopefully develop better writing skills and be able to make my writing better. I'm a horrible writer unless i'm writing about something that interest me or something i know a lot about. I'm hoping this course can make it better.

      I think everyone is hoping for an "A." I don't think that will be too hard to achieve as long as you're putting forth best efforts.

    hello everyone,
    it's been about a year since i've taken a more formal writing course so i'm really kind of looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and furthering my knowledge on writing skills. Of course an A would be nice to see at the end of the session.

    I must say, I'm somewhat dreading this class. Though I am hoping it will end up improving my writing, at least that's the goal. Already, as an unexpected bonus, trying not to look at the screen and read what I previously wrote is improving my typing.

    My goal for this class is to hopefully improve my overall writing because its horrible so I hope I can learn some fundamental skill to help that. Also I want an A in the class, I'll settle for a B if I need to.

    Be because it is a class requirement, I am posting to this blog to fulfill the two postings per week requirement.
    I am not overly fond of social media sites and I really don't like emailing but they are necessary forms of communication.

    Here I Have A Must Watch.!!! I Repeat "MUST WATCH". It's definitely a great Argument/Bias opinions. It's called "Hump Day Romance Can A Man Be A Hoe" this could be a great class discussion if he would allow it to happen, but f*** it. Enjoy and reply because I believe in this.

    Ok everyone so Issac doesn't believe that a man can be a hoe! I absolutely disagree. I hate double standards. If a girl sleeps around and she's a "hoe" then a boy who sleeps around is the exact same thing.

    So I'm just figuring out that this is where we're suppose to post blog entries. Don't know where the hell I've been posting to!? Even though I feel like my writing skills are pretty solid, I'm still hoping to improve my skills. Hopefully, this class will assist me in communicating my ideas in the most effective way. This will help my audience better understand my writing as well as allow them to retain the information that I am writing about.
